The amount of time I spent playing oblivion was insane, crazy to think that compatibility issues are a reason for me not to want to attempt to play it. These games are approaching 14 and 12 but yet seem to have no support from Bethesda, even though they're some of the best games of their generation. Even before GoG I used to get crashes all the time, even just a few years after FO3 came out on my Windows 7 PC.
GFWL makes Fallout 3 a major pain, luckily the GoG version is pretty much ready to play but for some reason doesn't work on my system. What a nightmare to get it all working on a modern system.
Have a time capsule PC with top of the line hardware for the time and have Vista/XP It sucks that the most stable way to play these games right out of the box is to:ġ. The games are also forced to run in single core or dual cores iirc, something like that, I just wish they were properly updated for modern systems. That still applies to current games because Bethesda refuses to support ultrawide for some reason.
if you're an ultrawide user, you will have to edit your resolution through game files. Getting to run these games requires quite a bit of editing, or using GoG to even get a playable version of these games. Probably one of the saddest points about these games is how they are a complete nightmare to run.
